Overview:
REMPREX leveraged its subject-matter expertise to provide a complete operational optimization program for Canadian Pacific at their Vaughan terminal, which serves the Toronto metropolitan area. This study reviewed existing operations, equipment, yard layout, and future capital expansion options to provide CP with near-term and long-term development options for this growing facility.

REMPREX analyzed operational data from CP systems to discover current operational norms, then benchmarked the data to create key performance indicators (KPIs) suited to meeting industry norms. This allowed CP to target specific areas of improvement for the facility and increase capacity through efficiency and throughput rather than capital expansion of equipment or physical plant. The efforts also helped develop dashboards that leverage new and existing data streams, significantly enhancing the real-time decision making capabilities of the local operations staff. REMPREX also completed a full review of the existing physical plant and provided plans for incremental growth of the facility within the existing property. The plans were specifically developed to provide wheeled domestic parking capacity and to separate grounded international operations, at the request of the client. These capital expansion options were then modeled using the benchmarked operational metrics to provide meaningful operation capacities.
