The San Bernardino Automated Gate project consisted of upgrading the original inbound and outbound checkpoint for the facility. Remprex provided the structural and electrical design drawings, construction management, project management, sub contractor bid documents, on-site engineering, and AGS technology design and build. The original estimated timeframe for completion of the project was six (6) months. BNSF, however, needed the project to be completed by the end of the calendar year (December 31, 2008). Remprex accepted the challenge and agreed to take on the risk of the project despite the fact that Remprex was not awarded the project until September 1, 2008.
Not only did Remprex complete the project within the timeframe given, but it did so while coming in below the original budget. Most importantly, the project was completed during “Live” terminal operations safely without one accident.
